Resumo
O movimento antivacinação tem ganhado força no mundo inteiro, apesar dos inquestionáveis avanços obtidos com as vacinas na redução drástica da incidência das doenças contagiosas. As causas para esse avanço ainda são temas de discussão e pesquisa, mas a ignorância, a facilidade da disseminação de informações falsas e a ascensão de políticas populistas têm sido implicadas. O grande desafio para o futuro será a dicotomia entre o interesse da saúde pública e as liberdades individuais.
