Preprint Submission Policy

Preprint Submission Policy

CIADS encourages practices that promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Therefore, it allows the submission of manuscripts that have been previously deposited in preprint servers. Below, we present the guidelines related to this practice:

Submission Guidelines

  • Eligibility: Manuscripts deposited in preprint servers recognized by the academic community may be submitted to the journal, provided they meet the scope and format criteria required by CIADS.

  • Permitted Repositories: The journal accepts preprints published in repositories such as:

    • SciELO Preprints

    • arXiv

    • bioRxiv

    • medRxiv

    • Other subject-specific repositories, provided they are of recognized reputation.

  • Declaration at Submission: Authors must inform, at the time of submission, that the manuscript has been deposited as a preprint, indicating the repository, the link, and the DOI number (if applicable).

  • Updates and Revisions: Revised versions of the manuscript may be deposited in the same repository during the review process, provided this is indicated in the communication with the journal.

Conditions of Acceptance

  • The publication of preprints shall not be considered a violation of originality.

  • The version published in the journal must include a note mentioning the preprint version, with the link to the corresponding repository.

  • Changes in the text published as a preprint after acceptance in the journal must be communicated to the editors.

Copyright

When submitting the manuscript, authors must ensure that publication in the preprint repository does not infringe copyright or agreements with third parties.
