The CIADS encourages practices that promote the dissemination of scientific knowledge. Thus, it allows the submission of manuscripts that have been previously deposited on preprint servers. Below, we present the guidelines related to this practice:
Submission Guidelines
- Eligibility: Manuscripts deposited on preprint servers recognized by the academic community may be submitted to the journal, provided they meet the scope and format criteria requested by CIADS.
- Repositories Allowed: The journal accepts preprints published in repositories such as:
- SciELO Preprints
- arXiv
- bioRxiv
- medRxiv
- Other repositories specific to the area, provided they have a recognized reputation.
- Declaration on submission: Authors must state at the time of submission that the manuscript has been deposited as a preprint, indicating the repository, link and DOI number (if applicable).
- Updates and Revisions: Revised versions of the manuscript may be deposited in the same repository during the revision process, provided that this is indicated in the communication with the journal.
Conditions of Acceptance
- The publication of preprints will not be considered a breach of originality.
- The vision published in the journal must include a note mentioning the preprint version, with the link to the corresponding repository.
- Changes to the text published in the preprint after acceptance in the journal must be communicated to the editors.
Copyright
When submitting the manuscript, authors must ensure that publication in the preprints repository does not infringe copyright or agreements with third parties.
