Vaccine politicization is sanitary irresponsibility

Abstract

This brief communication addresses the immense challenge of a national immunization campaign against Covid-19, given the current scenario of probable approval of several vaccines that are in the final testing phase. There are adversities around the acquisition, production, storage, transport, and dispensation, which should be the object of intense planning and logistics capable of mitigating the high rates of vaccine losses in immunization campaigns. The success of this undertaking depends on a solid federative pact and the leadership of the Ministry of Health in the acquisition of vaccines and in conducting the immunization campaign. The construction of this pact is hindered by the politicization of the Covid-19 vaccine, which is irresponsibly promoted by national political leaders, compromising the union around the theme and generating insecurity in the Brazilian population.
