The publication of articles reporting research involving human participants, including health data, is conditional upon compliance with the ethical principles established in the Declaration of Helsinki of the World Medical Association (updated in 2024), as well as the guidelines and regulatory standards for research involving human beings defined by the Conselho Nacional de Saúde, in particular Resolution CNS No. 466/2012 and current complementary regulations.
All research must:
- Comply with the specific legislation of the country where it was conducted;
- Provide prior approval from a Research Ethics Committee, indicating the name of the committee, the affiliated institution, and the approval number, in the Methodology section of the article.
- Include informed consent from all participants, when applicable, and ensure confidentiality and the protection of sensitive data.
The Editorial Team of CIADS reserves the right to:
- Request additional information regarding the ethical procedures adopted;
- Refuse the publication of research that does not meet the ethical criteria established in this policy.
Example of statement in the manuscript:
“The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Universidade XYZ, under opinion No. 123/2025. All participants provided written informed consent.”
