Contemporary slave labor is still a social problem in Brazil, given the need to implement the national health policy of the worker. In the present work will be discussed the slave labor as a public health problem, highlighting possibilities for the expansion of vigilance and integral attention to this specific population of workers. The study consists of an analysis of national and international slave labor of the human, social and public health sciences. The research consists of demonstrating theoretical and practical dimensions on slave labor and its relations with the health field, as well as the vigilance and health care practices of workers submitted to these chronic social conditions.
